|  "Live theatre at Teatro Alianza"
Wow and wow is all I can say about the Spanish production of A Streetcar Named Desire currently at Teatro Alianza. It was really helpful to study the notes and look at the old movie clips but this small, intimate theatre has a cast that are all strong and the director has created an amazing adaptation that is unique to Uruguay but follows the simplicity and strength of previous productions. The issues it raises are timeless the story line simple enough to follow even for a beginning Spanish speaker like me. Find it at the Alianza page, to the left under Teatro. There are also children's plays for the next two weeks during the holidays, including Pinocchio and the Wizard of Oz. There are also some great YouTube links under the heading "Streetcar Named Desire" to help refresh your memory of the scenes. .
