Are laptops cheaper down south? - Household Stuff, Consumer Electronics and Computers
| Are laptops cheaper down south? You'd think with this global crisis that prices would be falling but shops seem pretty stubborn up here in Scotland and I am not seeing any bargains. I'm coming down to Uruguay for a few weeks in April, should I hold out and buy something down there instead? Any advice? Cheers |
| I can't speak for Scotland... but the import taxes are about 60%.. plus shipping costs... so expect consumer electronics to cost about twice what they would in the USA.Also there tends to be more older, outdated some. Sometimes at outrageous prices. I saw 128 MB memory chips for camera for more than 1 or 2 GB chips were running in the USA. |
