| Answers: Spiritually speaking I gave a beggar girl Everything a little girl coul I live in Uruguay Montevideo where there is no pension pay, and the majority of uruguayans live on the streets with their kids. I saw a pretty little girl that reminded me of Alice Liddell, with filthy clothes, unbathed, I bought her the biggest ice cream in the ice cream store, Dressed her up in expensive clothing, Gave her my 50 dollar cd player and a cd player bag a really good one (Cd players here cost 100+) And I bought her a make up kit, I gave her a jacket, a bunch of bracelets, hair bands, hair accessories, I got her to wash her face and hands before getting her to put her new clothes on, I also gave her a really nice black purse and a jack wallet and knapsack, I over did myself with her so much she looks like a wealthy little girl here now, I also gave her a huge stuffed animal. Usually people say I'm the centre of the earth, and think inferior of other people but I just couldn't stop giving her/ buying her stuff.. This happens whenever I see a beggar girl I like, I'm a 22 year old Lady and I feel the need to always make someone happy. My husband is going to KILL me for giving her all that I did, but I look at her through my window and she looks happy all dressed nicely and filled with presents.. Am I a good person I've done this before but never over done it like today, I always got bit at the end because beggars here are usually very ungreatful and desperate and will mug you after but I can't help seeing children beggers going through garbadge i feel like i want to mother them and supply them with the best life Ugh your comments make me feel like I didn't give enough or it was all useless. I'd adopt a girl but I am mentally ill and my husband wouldn't let me. |
| What you did was exemplary. You are one of a kind and you will really be blessed with what you are doing. However, there will always come a time when you also have to think about yourself. You said that beggars in Uruguay are ungrateful at times. Beware of those people who might only be taking advantage of you. Of course, there's nothing wrong with what you are doing, but just be aware sometimes. Don't give too much because in the end, you might lose everything that you have for yourself. |
| "Very odd conclusions about the country..."
It's very nice to give, but to brag about it - is not. Also "the majority of people in Montevideo live in the streets" and "there is no pension" -- what kind of delirium is that??? there are homeless people in most countries and big cities, which does not mean that there is NO pension and that these poor people are majority. I wonder what our kind soul of a blogger would say about the city of Los Angeles... in Downtown it often looks like the MAJORITY of folks in the streets ARE homeless and most of the are homeless. Does it mean that the USA has not social coverage for ites citizens? Hope the blogger is capable of basic analyzing... |
| Hi to all. I am interested in learning more about the country of Uruguay particularly in Montevideo. I hope to get there soon upon my retirement and so any good information about the cost of living in the said country would be greatly appreciated. Any good links would also be great. I will be waiting for all of your posts coming in. Thanks a lot and have a great day to all. |
| God will truly bless you for what you have done. You have a generous heart and I'm sure that it will be rewarded. But you said that you are mentally ill? What exactly is your illness? I don't think a mentally ill person would be able to do this tremendous act of generosity. Still, you can't help all the beggars out your window. Besides, it may be dangerous for you. |

I am planning to get there soon to have a short-term vacation and if ever I will like the place, I would prefer to buy there a 2nd home for us to have during our vacation days. Please send me more info. thanks. |
