A founding member of the Memphis Jazz Band and The Montevideo Jazz Group presents music from Frank Sinatra, Susana Rinaldi and Joan Manuel Serrat. A show filled with Latin American music from Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil and Cuba. Taking place every Sunday from 7th - 28th of June 2009 at El Tartamudo Café on Avenida 8 de Octubre (on the corner with Presidente Berro) and entry is only 50 pesos!

Elaine:I have seen on the Montevideo City cable channel a couple of jazz shows which seem to be videotaped in the Victoria Plaza conference facility. The two shows I saw on TV were a Jazz band, made up of 'local' musicians (I think some were from Argentina). The band had Cacha de la Cruz on trombone, and Rada come on stage to sing "When the Saints go Marching Through." The other show I saw was a touring black gospel troupe from the USA. Both shows were well produced for TV, but there was a live audience and I would like to attend other of these shows. I haven't seen ads for Jazz 2009, have you? Rodger • Page 1 (Original Post) •
